Are you a car fanatic? Do you enjoy tuning your vehicle to maximize its performance? Is your knowledge of cars extensive? If that is the case, the chances are you will enjoy Car Mechanic Simulator 2018. The new game developed by Red Dot is a phenomenal release that is, however, intended only for a particular audience.
Who Needs a Story When You Have Realism?
This is a simulation game that puts you in the role of the owner of a car mechanic shop. There is no storyline per se because there is no need for one. Your goal is to lead a successful shop and have some fun in car tuning along the way.
It all works like this – the customer drives his car and asks you to fix it. You then proceed to diagnose and repair the issue. The problems range from simple things such as changes of filter and oil, but you will also be asked to solve the issues of suspension or replace rims. The orders vary, but you might end up dealing with same repairs after a while – in just the first couple of hours of the game, I mounted dozens of small parts that all look the same. In case you don’t have a component that needs replacing, you can order it online. Unfortunately, it will be instantly delivered, which kills the realism a little bit (it’s not rare that you need to wait for 2-3 days for spare parts).
Over 40 of Impressive Car Models
Graphics are undoubtedly the most significant positive of the Car Mechanic Simulator 2018. There is a wide range of vehicles that you will fix, including modern cars, as well as old timers. The total number is over 40, including the Dodge, Mazda, and Jeep models that are available in the DLC. Each vehicle and its parts are carefully designed, and everything looks fantastic.
You have various types of equipment available throughout the shop. That includes lifting the car, a machine that balances wheels and an oil changer. It’s a shame that you can’t get your hands ‘dirty’ because each action is done automatically. It would be a nice touch if we needed to try to unscrew a component before replacing it. Once you think everything is ready, you take the car to the test track for a ride. That is the final piece of the repair, and if the vehicle passes, you can return it to the owner and successfully complete the order.
